A HUGE thank you to Brigette Blom Ramsey (@Bblomramsey) and The Prichard Committee (@prichardcom) for being our guests last week talking about building community capacity to support schools.  Great things going on in Kentucky with the Groundswell Initiative.  We had a record setting chat with a reach of over 109 individuals!

@KYCIPL – Belonging and relationships are key to self actualization. Promoting social connections and resilience further develops our cognitive and social emotional competencies!

@LauraGilchrist4 – Everything our kids need is within US — the parents, staff, kids, community. Connect the adults so energy and ideas/resources can flow. Then identify all resources. Then start designing the reality kids deserve — TOGETHER!

@dcrescitelli – I think this first starts with recognizing that the students in our schools are all “our kids”- this is how community works.

@bblomramsey – We’ve made a lot of headway in education in the last generation. Going from “good to great” requires communities to respond to the unique needs of students locally. Neighborhood by neighborhood, community by community, school by school ….

@clegleiter – If we want to support kids in our communities – then we must take action. The only thing that will create change is someone willing to take step forward and initiate change.

And the best quote of all from @bblomramsey – we need to ensure all kids can be the “architects of their destiny”
